Assignment
V&S Group. Packaging design, conceptua-
lization, naming, Blossa glögg (mulled wine).
Nordic region, 1992–
Challenge
V&S’ glögg products lacked their own brand. The existing product names were generic, e.g. “Glögg”, “Vinglögg”
and so on. The design was old-fashioned
and the bottles were standard wine bottles. It was necessary to go back
to the drawing board and build
up a completely new, strong and clear brand.
Solution
The name Blossa (Glow) was chosen to signal Christmas, warmth and tradition. The design solution established
a clear colour coding for the various products. The bottles have a unique design, with the logo stamped in relief
on the bottle. The design has been gradually updated several times.
Result
Blossa has been a success, with brand recognition
at 86%, a result of consistent work on the brand and
a clear design concept. Blossa has a total market
share of 75% in Sweden.
